I built this because I couldn’t find it anywhere else.
My name is Neil Gulino. I’m 62 years old, and about three years ago I hit a wall I didn’t see coming.
I’d spent my career in enterprise IT consulting — decades of high-pressure work, long hours, and the kind of sustained performance that mid-career professionals wear like a badge. And then, in my late 50s, the math changed. Energy dropped. Sleep got worse. Recovery from workouts that used to be routine started taking days instead of hours. Focus — the thing I’d built my entire career on — started flickering.
I went to my doctor. “Everything looks normal for your age.” That phrase — “normal for your age” — felt like a polite way of saying “get used to it.”
I didn’t accept that.
I started researching. Not the supplement-bro content on YouTube. Not the breathless longevity influencers selling $200 peptide stacks. I wanted the actual evidence — the studies, the data, the clinical reasoning behind what works and what’s marketing.
What I found was a landscape split in two: peer-reviewed journals written for clinicians (useful but impenetrable), and influencer content written for engagement (accessible but unreliable). Almost nothing existed in the middle — the space where a smart, busy man could get honest, evidence-based guidance without needing a medical degree or a tolerance for hype.
So I built it.
What this site is
Durable Resilience exists to be the resource I wished I’d had when I started asking these questions.
It covers four areas that matter most for men 45–65: hormone optimization, biomarker testing, evidence-based supplements, and performance tracking. Every article is built on the same principle: give the reader the information they need to make a better decision — about a lab test, a supplement, a wearable, a clinic — and trust them to act on it.
You’ll find honest product comparisons that tell you who something is for and who it’s not for. You’ll find health guidance that cites its sources and acknowledges uncertainty where it exists. And you’ll find a consistent editorial voice that respects your time and your intelligence.
Some of this content comes from my own experience. Some comes from researchers, practitioners, and contributors who bring expertise I don’t have. All of it passes through the same editorial filter: is this something I’d tell a friend?
What this site isn’t
It isn’t medical advice. I’m not a doctor. Nothing here replaces a conversation with your physician.
It isn’t a supplement store with articles attached. We have affiliate relationships with brands we’ve vetted and would recommend regardless — and every one of those relationships is disclosed plainly.
It isn’t written for 25-year-old biohackers. The content here is for men who have been around long enough to know that most “revolutionary” health products aren’t revolutionary, and who want someone to cut through the noise.
Why “Durable Resilience”
Because the goal isn’t to look 30 again. It’s to perform at a high level for as long as possible — physically, cognitively, professionally — and to do it based on evidence rather than hope.
Resilience isn’t a supplement you take. It’s a system you build. Lab work that tells you what’s actually happening. Interventions that are backed by data. Tracking that shows you whether those interventions are working. And the honesty to adjust when they’re not.
That’s what this site helps you build.
